Meyda Illuminates The Tailor and The Cook Restaurant in Utica, NY
UTICA, NY—The Tailor and the Cook is an award-winning restaurant located at 311 Main Street in Utica, New York with one mission– to produce provocative and thoughtful cuisine and a path to the farmers and other sources. Owner and executive chef Tim Hardiman opened the farm-to-table restaurant at a previous location over a decade ago, intending to buy local and create dishes that celebrate fresh, seasonal ingredients.
The Tailor and the Cook partners with Mohawk Valley Garden, which purchased the historic building as renovations transformed the first floor of the former Utica Children’s Museum into a new home for the restaurant. The space includes a formal dining room and a larger bar area, which seats 100 people and is renowned for offering locally sourced food, excellent service, a hospitable atmosphere, and an enjoyable casual dining experience while the chefs create made-from-scratch meals, a cherished principle that was practiced from culinary school to cooking meals at home.

You can view a complete range of American-made, Custom Lighting from Meyda Lighting throughout the restaurant. All fixtures are designed, engineered, and manufactured in its Yorkville, New York facility.
Inside the bar area, ring-styled pendants with stunning globes stand out. The 66″ Wide Reginald Pendant features 12 White Glass Globe lamps, while the 48″ Wide version has 8. Both have a Gold Metallic interior and Oil Rubbed Bronze exterior, creating a stunning aesthetic.
Above the bar, seven Pastilla Mini Pendants evoke a calming effect with Clear Seeded Glass shades and Edison-styled lamps.
Inside the Four Season Porch Dining Area, Hacienda Chandeliers with Blackened Wicker shades in various shapes and sizes add charm.
Over the booth tables in the bar area, Barrel Stave Madera Chandeliers offer direct lighting and a warm ambiance with Hand Hammered Metal and Reclaimed Wood.
The private dining room showcases the geometric Emmentaler Pendant with Brass Cylinders and a Solar Black canopy.
The bar’s ceiling features the Ceiling Grid Luminaire in Gold Metallic and Oil Rubbed Bronze finishes.
